Detmold Specialty Packaging (DSP) is an Australian family owned and operated business, specialising in packaging for the gifting industry. We have a manufacturing and distribution facility based in Melbourne, Australia.
We are the largest Australian producer of roll wrap. We manufacture product for Australia’s biggest retailers and finest gifting specialists. Our range of roll wrap is from 1.5 to 20 metres, and we can meet the requirements for everyday gifting occasions to the high demands of Christmas ranging. We also have a complimentary range of Cellophane, Tissue, Bags & Gift Tags.
We also believe in treating everyone with dignity and respect, from our employees to our suppliers and customers. We will not use any supplier that utilises any form of forced or child labour. A full version of our Ethical policy can be requested by contacting us below.

We buy premium paper from the best mills and agents globally including Australia, China and Taiwan and have a global network for printing. We can source the best designs on a global platform or work with you to create your own beautiful range to best meet the current market trends.
The ability to meet with our customers face to face, and quickly respond to requests, gives us a unique advantage in the gifting space.

Sustainability & Innovation
We are committed to sustainability. Specialising in paper converting ensures that our product is biodegradable and compostable. We continuously focus on further improvements which can be made such as minimising packing materials and progressing to more sustainably conscious options.
Since 2020, we have implemented measures to reduce our energy requirements by over 20% to make a product, whilst increasing our manufacturing output.
We are passionate about innovation and love bringing new products to market.
We recently partnered with Hallmark and, utilising Detmold’s RecycleMe program, made a 100% Australian made recycled paper that stopped coffee cups going to landfill.

Our History
Australian Manufacturer and Family Owned Business
Detmold Specialty Packaging (DSP) has been continually family owned since its inception in 1945, now in the hands of the 3rd family in that time. William Hodder, and then his son Bill, ran the business until 1997. Bill then sold the business to Charles Gabb & Co and joined their Board. In 2004 Charles Gabb & Co was purchased by the Detmold family.
The Detmold Group is a leading manufacturer of paper and board based sustainable packaging products for a diverse range of customers.
Established in 1948, the Detmold Group is an Australian family-owned and operated business, supplying some of the world’s largest and most iconic food and retail brands.
The Detmold Group employs 3,000 people, with representatives in 17 countries, manufacturing facilities in 7 of those countries, and produces over 22,000 different food and retail packaging products.
With over 75 years history as a specialist manufacturer of roll wrap, we are still renowned for the same great customer service and product quality.
